#RhinosCanFly Introduction
As part of Quotient’s support for Responsible Travel, we are a series sponsor of National Geographic Live this year and have initiated campaigns to raise awareness about the NGL event and the cause for wildlife conservation.
Why rhinos? There are an estimated 4,000 black rhinos and 20,000 white rhinos left in Africa and they face the perilous threat of being killed by poachers for their horns to be sold in China and Vietnam on the black market. Rhinos Without Borders, initiated by andBeyond and Great Plains Conservation, aims to translocate 100 rhinos from South Africa where poaching is rampant, to their new home in Botswana, renowned for its anti-poaching stance.
Our private fundraising effort is in support of Quotient's initiative to raise enough funds to aid in translocating one rhino from South Africa to Botswana. The move is estimated to cost US$50,000. We have put together wildlife-themed merchandise, National Geographic books and photographic prints, and one-of-a-kind travel offers for sale, with all proceeds going to Rhinos Without Borders. We are targeting to raise a total of US$50,000 and need your help.
